Date of event:

June, 5, in the capital of Russia Moscow Meets Friends festival came to its end. In this largest-scale project of the Vladimir Spivakov’s International Charitable Foundation talented kids from Kazakhstan took their part, too.

Today’s festival was special, because it was dedicated to the 20 years anniversary of the Vladimir Spivakov’s Foundation and the Year of Culture in Russia. Vladimir Spivakov emphasized: “I saw my life’s result during these 20 years. There are only five persons in the Foundation, and there are more than 20 thousands of children who received help…” About 1,500 talented kids participated in concerts, and at the opening ceremony a few of them were lucky to perform side by side with the maître Vladimir Spivakov and his band – the Virtuosos of Moscow orchestra.

Our country was represented by 15-yeared Omar Kuanyshev and 14-yeared Olzhas Nurlanov from Pavlodar, and by six-yeared Sophie Manassyan from Almaty. Among the guests and participants from 45 countries our compatriots have not gone unnoticed. The young Kazakhstani participants of this prestigious festival have already had many serious accomplishments. The violin-player Omar Kuanyshev is one of the best pupils in the special music school named after Baiseitova. He is a laureate of international and republic competitions. In 2012 he won Grand Prix at the 23rd Flame International Competition of Conservatory in Paris. As newspapers read: “It’s not just this boy’s technical skills that took the audience by storm – all the participants were enough technically skilled. But Omar, in addition to his perfect technical skills and rich sound has an absolutely mature, adult inner world. While at stage, the boy stays tete-a-tete with his music, not paying attention to anyone. Every performer tries to achieve this kind of inner state, but very few succeed in this”.

Sophie Manassyan is the laureate and the first prize winner of international festivals and competitions in USA, Italy, Russia, and Kazakhstan, the special guest of the Children’s Eurovision 2013 held in Kiev. She is a professional dancer, vocalist, and acrobat. At the Moscow Meets Friends festival Sophie showed the audience her Kazakh folk dances program.

Olzhas Nurlanov, the bayan-player, has played his instrument since six. There are more than hundred classical, folk, and modern music pieces in his repertoire. In 2012 he became the winner of the 4th International Bayanists Competition in China. Olzhas composes music by himself and is seriously interested in the art of conducting. His performing in Moscow was declared one of the most vivid performances, and the young musician received an offer from the Vladimir Spivakov’s Foundation on his further cooperation with the orchestra of the celebrated maitre.

The Bank RBK in Almaty organized and sponsored the visit and participation of Kazakhstani performers in the festival. Nurgul’ Yertaeva, the member of the Board of Directors and the independent director of the OJSC Bank RBK, pointed out that “the Vladimir Spivakov’s International Charitable Foundation is engaged in a matter of great moment: it discovers artistically gifted children and helps them fulfill their potential. I think that the young talents’ performance at a major event like this may become fateful for its every participant”. Apart from the performers, the Bank sent to Moscow the artworks of the five young Kazakhstani artists, and these were exhibited at the international exhibition held in the framework of the festival.
