The number of children wishing to get a musical education has grown by 20% in Astana. Music education is hugely popular in the capital.
If in 2013, 1037 children applied to the music schools of Astana, then in 2014 their number equalled to 1301. 815 of them are studying this year children and the others were refused-the occupancy rate at the schools does not allow to accept more students. There are three music schools under the patronage of the Akimat of Astana.
More than twenty percent growth of the students in music schools have already affected the budget planning: the following year the directors of music schools promise to take more students.
Increased number of young musicians is explained by the school directors as associated with the social, economic stability and relative security in Astana. Musical education becomes also more and more popular. So, the contest Astana Piano Passion with a prize fund of $ 60,000 is a good stimulus and it attracts a large number of children to study the music.
Third International Festival of Classical Music and a contest for the young pianists- Astana Piano Passion will start from April 24, 2015. However, the application process has begun and it will last from December 1, 2014 to March 1, 2015.
This time period is enough to prepare the program of the contest and to represent their country at the musical competition in Astana. As of today, 252 young talents from 43 countries and from more than 100 cities in the world will take part in the International Piano Competition. The young musicians from Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine, Japan, the United States, Australia, South and North Korea, Armenia, Denmark, Italy, Singapore and China, and other countries around the world participated in the Astana performance.
The Festival and Competition for young pianists are unique because they give an opportunity not only to establish international contacts in the field of culture and to support young talents, but they also promote the music of Kazakh composers. Rare works are included in the compulsory program of the contest, performed by young musicians- they sound delightfully every time.
We would like to remind that the organizers of Astana Piano Passion are the Public Fund “Accordi di Astana” with the support of Akimat of Astana and Moscow Philharmonic Society. Artistic Director and Honorary Chairman of the jury is Denis Matsuev, the People's Artist of Russia.
